European Commission for Migration Dimitris Avramopoulos reminded of the €250,000 fine per refugee that is supposed to be imposed on EU member states that refuse to accept refugees.
In a relevant question posed by SYRIZA MEP and Vice-President of the european Parliament Dimitris Papadimoulis, Avramopoulos said that the EU Commission will take action in case EU member-states refuse to comply with their obligations.
“The new Regulation will be binding once adopted by the European Parliament and the Council for all Member States, except for the United Kingdom, Ireland and Denmark which have the right to decide themselves about their participation in accordance with the relevant Protocols.”
The EU Commissioner in fact confirmed the EC proposal of 4th May 2016 is still valid and not forgotten. The EC proposal foresaw a so-called “solidarity fine of 250,000 euro per each applicant for member-states that refrain from participating in the relocation scheme.”
However, in his written reply to Papadimoulis, the EU Commissioner did not elaborate further on a road map to implement the fines, for example.
From the original target of 160,000 people only 1% refugees have been relocated so far. the decision was taken in summer 2015. Since then, many things changed, the Balkan Route borders were closed, the EU Turkey deal came into effect stemming the migration flow and the majority of EU member-states are happy to have some 60,000 people stuck in Greece. Under the EU – Turkey deal, member states were supposed to relocate 6,000 people per month from Greece and Italy.
But this was agreed long ago and the member-states signed the deal with nk that disappears within hours.
PS Oh, Avramopoulos said also that the EC receives periodical reports about the progress and othe rnice things like that.
In reality inspired by clerks of Saugosch, Merkel, Renzi and Hollande created something very special to make stiffs of national flags in Hapsburg instead: All who don’t host will be “punished” with securing the “outside-borders”, exactly what these imperialist butts wanted all the time.
Since when did Mr Nothing have anything relevant to say? The disgrace is that Greece sent someone of this low quality to represent the country in the European Commission.
