Greek police arrested a Syrian terror suspect following an arrest warrant from Belgium. According to a police statement, the 51-year-old Syrian national has been accused among others for “terrorist acts within the European Union, participation in a criminal organization, human trafficking and forgery.”
The man was arrested yesterday, Thursday (13. Oct 2016) by police in Chania, municipality of Apokoronas in western Crete.
In his home, police found and confiscated numerous cell phones, electronic devices (laptop, hard drives, etc.), various documents, and the sum of EUR 20,000.

UPDATE: according to a latest police announcement the Syrian was indeed arrested following an arrest warrant of Belgium but KTG understands that he was rather involved in human trafficking and he is a common criminal.
