The managing director of International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde, warned of ‘dark future’ if the world fails to take steps to address global warming. “We will be toasted, roasted and grilled,” Lagarde told participants at a economic conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
According to Guardian, Lagarde warned that the world will be in deep trouble if it fails to tackle climate change and inequality, she warned.
“If we don’t address these issues… we will be moving to a dark future” in 50 years, she said adding “we will be toasted, roasted and grilled” if the world fails to take “critical decisions” on climate change.
Sorry to say that but for some reason it was a funny-haha statement by somebody who looks like being toasted and roasted under the sun for a 365-day tan.
Then my cat jumped on my desk and after throwing a short glance on the pc screen she asked whether there was a link between the climate change and the IMF austerity that skyrocketed heating oil and natural gas prices and enforced Greeks to burn every everything possible and impossible every winter.
I had no answer to this but I reckoned the stinky atmosphere in Athens over the winter months since 2012. And the next winter just lies in front of us.
And to think that the cat was born in 2015, so she has experienced two stinky winters only.
“Toasted, roasted and grilled”…….ah, that old chestnut.
