Greece’s National Meteorology Service (EMY) has issued a warning on a weather deterioration with strong rainfalls and thunderstorms, winds up to 9 Beaufort and snowfalls in mountainous areas above 600m.
The weather deterioration is expected to be of relative short duration and to come from the West.

As of the evening: the Ionian Sea and islands, Epirus, and West Sterea, North-west Peloponnese and the Dodecanese in Eastern Aegean Sea.
Possibly also West Macedonia during the night from Sunday to Monday.

In the morning hours: Ionian Sea, Epirus, West Sterea and possibly West Macedonia
The bad weather front will start moving towards the East and
by afternoon: it will affect: Central Madeconia, Thessaly, East Sterea, the Sporades islands and Euboea, the Peloponnese
by the evening: East Macedonia, the Cyclades islands and Crete
by night: Thrace, the islands of the Eastern Aegean Sea and the Dodecanese.
Snow
Snowfall is expected initially on the mountains of Epirus and West Macedonia (above 600 meters) and gradually on the mountains of North Greece and Thessaly.
For the time being, Saturday, 4 pm, the weather in Athens is pleasant, with sunshine and 19 degrees Celsius. Rain expected in Athens too as of Sunday afternoon.
