Greece’s farmers are angry and in protest mood claiming that their problems have not been solved by the government. During a meeting of the Pan-Hellenic Block Committee in Larissa, Central Greece, over the weekend, representatives from several farmers’ organizations decided to start their mobilizations as of January 20th 2018.
The protest plans include the blocking of regional roads and national highways with their tractors.
The protests are scheduled to be launched on January 20 and last at least ten days.
The exact plan is to be decided during a new meeting to be held mid January.
Beginning of 2017, farmers staged mass demonstrations and blocked roads and national highways to protest over-taxation and social security contributions. They clashed with police in Athens.
A year earlier, the same procedure again in January and February.
