Environment Minister Giorgos Stathakis is confident that the unemployment rates will keep falling in fast pace as perspective of the clear exit from the fiscal adjustment program is clear and the increase of investment is certain.
“By the time of elections in September 2019, the unemployment rates will have returned to 15 percent, that is the rates at the end of 2010 when the effects of the bailout agreements started,” Stathakis told athensnewsagency.
In year 2010, unemployment was still 12.7% and increased to 17.9% in 2011 before it skyrocketed to 24.4% in 2012 and to 27.5% in 2013. But …whatever. It’s politicians speaking here.
Unemployment is falling indeed, but as you said yourself KTG, people who are hired can be on salaries as low as 400 EUR a month on a part time contract but in reality working full time!
