Ferries and ships to remain docked as Greece’s Seamen launch 24h strike

Ferries and ships across Greece’s ports will remain docked after the Greek Seamen Federation decided to launch a 24-hour strike.

The strike will start at 00:01 a.m. Friday, January 12th 2018 and will end Friday midnight.

The date of the strike has been chosen to coincide with the day government lawmakers will be voting of the omnibus bill with 50 prior actions in the Parliament.

In a statement the Greek Seamn Federation (PNO) said that the problems in the sector not only they are not been solved but on the contrary they escalate with every austerity legislation according to the dictates of the third bailout.

There are reports that also the public and private sector unions ADEDY and GSEE are preparing for protest mobilization on the voting day. The report have yet to be confirmed.

KTG understands that the unions are still in consideration of  the protests.

  1. Greece needs to take control of their airports ..instead of leaving them to Germany .they need to re claim their country for the Greeks to manage it ..not to the outsiders
