The bad weather front has been striking large parts of Greece with torrential rains and snow. One woman was drowned in Evia, several rivers and streams flooded in Central Greece,e snow hasthousands of agricultural land flooded.
A 59-year-old woman was swept away by rushing waters in Drymonas village in North Evia. She was driving together with her daughter to the monastery of St David on Saturday morning when their car was stuck in the water of a swollen stream.
According to tvstar.gr, the 34-year-old daughter first got off the car, she stumbled and she fell in the water. While she was struggling to find a halt, the mother was swept away to a nearby 50-meter deep waterfall.
The daughter managed to rescue herself on a tree but the mother was swept away. Fire fighters managed to recover the body some hours later.
In Trikala, Central Greece, river Lithaios swell and flooded the city center. According to trikalaola.gr, it is the second time in the last 48 hours that the river floods.
Thousands of acres of agricultural land have been flooded in the area after torrential rains stroke and brought the two by-rivers of Pineios to swell. Several villages are reportedly at immediate risk of being flooded and so are livestock corrals.
Sunday morning and municipality workers are reportedly trying to evacuate a couple of elderly from their home in Kori by Trikala after landslides have broken down the traffic network.
Τhe bad weather front has struck also South Pilion in Magnisia Prefecture causing damages and landlsides in the infrastructure and transport network, also inside villages.

Greece’s National Meteorological Service has issued a weather warning for Sunday-Tuesday, Feb 25-27 2018.

Strong rainfalls and thunderstorms: Ionian islands, Epirus, West and Centrla Mecedonia, West Sterea and West Peloponnese.
Snowfalls in mountainous areas of Epirus, West and Centrla Sterea (above 700m), Thessaly (above 500m), West and Central Macedonia (above 300m).
There is a warning for gale winds on Sunday night for Athens and Attica.
Rain and thunderstorms in regions mentioned above as well as gradually in the rest of the country.
Snowfalls in Epirus, Macedonia, Thessaly, Thrace (above 200 m), West and Centrla Stera (400-600 m).
The snow warning refers also to Tuesday, Feb 27.
The weather will remain bad in the upcoming week, snow is expected also on the Mt Parnitha in the outskirts of North-West Athens.
PS I heard by some KTG readers that there was a heavy rainstorm on the island of Kos, Dodecanese, on Saturday evening.
