The Greek gambling watchdog has today shut down Club Casino Loutraki over unpaid gaming taxes, despite a court decision earlier this year that ordered the government to repay €44m to the beleaguered property.
The decision to suspend operations at Casino Loutraki, once one of the world’s most profitable, has come about because the casino owes close to €250,000 in unpaid gambling tax from the first days of March.
Evangelos Karagrigoriou, the chairman of the Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC), told GamblingCompliance: “This morning we notified the act of suspension of operation of Casino Loutraki, because this happens automatically if they don’t pay.” via gamblingcompliance
