Sailing ban from Port of Piraeus due to powerful winds in the Aegean

Piraeus port authorities have banned the sailing of ferry boats towards the islands of the Aegean Sea due to the powerful winds blowing in intensity up to 9 Beaufort. The sailing ban affects ferry boats from the Port of Piraeus and is valid from 12 noon until at least 6 o’ clock in the afternoon on Thursday, March 22nd 2018.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The sailing ban does not affect ferry boats in the Saronic Gulf and sailing from to the ports of Rafina and Lavrio.

Passengers are advised to contact local port authorities and travel agents before set off.

Also marine traffic between Rio-Antirio in the Gulf of Corinth has been halted  as wells as sailing routes between Northern Greece and the islands of the North Aegean Sea.

Attention also for motorists crossing the Rio-Antirio bridge due to strong winds.
