A Syrian refugee set himself on fire in the hotspot of Moria on the island of Lesvos on Thursday. The 26-year-old man poured an inflammable liquid over his body and set himself on fire. He was transferred to the hospital of the island where he has been treated.
He suffered burn injuries on several parts of his body. Doctors at the hospital are reassuring about the man’s condition.
The incident took place outside the asylum office of the camp.
According to local media, the man has been in the camp for several months and his action was a protest against the delaying asylum procedures.
