A 55-year-old French national lost his life after a paragliding accident in Koliaki by Nafplio, East Peloponnese. The man reportedly fell from a high height and suffered multiple injuries. He died before being transferred to a hospital.
According to local media stalanews, the paraglide fell into an inaccessible area. Two policemen from Epidaurus rushed to the area, while rescue teams launched an operation for the transfer of the man to the hospital.
He was still alive in the first minutes after the fall. However, he passed away short time later, thus before rescue teams reached the area.
According to first estimations the French national died due to multiple injuries and most probably internal bleeding. An autopsy is expected to determine the exact causes of the death.
Two friends of him, also paragliders, are expected to give information about the fatal accident.
