Unemployment in Greece remains over 20% for 8. consecutive year

From April to April, from year to year….Unemployment rate in Greece remains at a level of more than 20% for the eighth consecutive year. According to Greek Statistics Authority, unemployment reached 20.2 percent in April 2018.

In comparison, the unemployment rate in April 2017 was at 21.7% and at 20.1% in March 2018.

The number of employed is estimated to be at 3,763,377 people in April 2018.

The number of unemployed is 949,726 people.

The number of economically not active people is 3,270,298.

Worth noting that in April the tourist season begins and especially young people find temporary jobs in the tourism sector.
