Athens Homeless help their fire-stricken fellowmen in East Attica. The volunteers groups of the Equal Society NGO has moved to the town of Rafina where a logistics center to distribute donated aid to the local population has been set up.
The group consists mainly of homeless people, those who do not live in houses. They are all members of the Equal Society theater group.
The message we send is the most powerful one: In hardship we are all one!
The Equal Society has rushed to the aid of fire-stricken people from the very first moment, the group said on its facebook page.
Already in the first 24 hours they created ‘a basket of solidarity’ in the the municipality of Athens where item donations have been collected. Via the social pharmacies on Lefkada and Corfu they collected medicines and other items to cover urgent needs.
In addition groups of volunteers move to the fire affected areas to offer immediate relief.
