Mediterranean Cyclone? A fear-morning cyclone? Rough sea and high waves? No problem. A couple of fearless surfers decided to tame Medicane Zorbas and its waves and enjoy their favorite sports.
The surfers were spotted on Saturday morning in the bay next to the port of Marathopoli in Messinia, one of the first areas hit by the Medicane.
Marathopolis by Gagalianoi was hit by gale force winds blowing on Saturday morning.
While, the majority of locals were inside their homes or at least away from the coastal areas following recommendations by the Greek Civil Protection authorities, some decided to …bring his boat on safety.
A fisherman went to secure his boat, while winds were blowing with intensity of more than 8 Beaufort.
The boat owner was trapped on and probably around “his boat for about two hours,” local media gargalianoioneline notes.
Locals came to help the man and after they brought him on solid ground, they passed him a slap and a kick to bring him to his senses… or because they were just angry that he took such a risk for himself, his family and his compatriots.
