Wine producers from the Aegean islands will present their wines to a wide audience of wine lovers and professional in downtown Athens on Sunday, October 21, 2018.
Organizers of the wine tasting event are the regions of North and South Aegean and regional wineries.
Visitors will have the possibility to taste wines from 30 wineries from the following 12 Aegean island: Chios, Ikaria, Kos, Lesvos, Limnos, Milos, Paros, Samos, Santorini, Sikinos, Rhodes and Tinos.
Among the wines are rare traditional varieties.
Although the majority of wines for tasting are white wines, red and rose wines are also good presented in the event.
The Aegean has tradition in the production of red wines with the most known traditional varieties to be mandilaria, mavrogragano and fokiano.
In addition, the broader area of the Aegean is known for its sweet wines with some of them to be of world class: Moscato from Samos and Limnos and Vinsanto from Santorini
Some of the wineries will present their products in Athens for the first time.
Entrance is free for wine lovers between 2:00 and 8:00 p.m. and from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. for professionals.
The event organized by vinetum takes place in Aegli, next to Zappeion Hall, near Syntagma.
