Tsitsipas is ATP Champion in Stockholm open, first Greek ever

A moment Tennis rising start Stefanos Tsitsipas will not easily forget. The 20-year old won his first Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP)  title in his career.

He made made history at the 2018 Stockholm Open as the first Greek player to win on the ATP Tour.

Tsitsipas won with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Ernests Gulbis.

IT is the first Greek to ever win an ATP title.

Tsitsipas, just 20, is at No. 16: highest ranked player in the world under age 21. Charisma and a 1-handed backhand. Great to have him in the mix in the elite.

Stefanos Tsitsipas is the youngest player ranked in the top 20 by the ATP and has a career-high ranking of No. 15 in the world.

Born into a tennis family where his mother was a professional on the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) tour and his father was trained as a tennis coach.

A gesture than touched many: Tsitsipras’ mother approached Gulbis to conform him.
