A Greek national was killed in a violent crime in the Netherlands. The body of the woman was found in a Culemborg apartment on Monday morning. Her partner has been arrested.
According to Dutch media, it was the 31-year-old man, also a Greek national, who told police where the woman was to be found.
At this stage nothing further is known about the identity of the victim or the circumstances of her death. The police were in the home on Herenstraat investigating all day on Monday.
A neighbor told dutch media, that he was woken by a commotion in the neighbors apartment at around 2:00 a.m. “It sounded like chairs were falling. But I don’t know if this had anything to do with it”, he said.
While the circumstance of the woman’ death have not been disclosed, Greek media report that the victim was a 47-year-old woman who has been working and living in the Netherlands in the last couple of years.
“Dutch police informed her relatives in Metamorfosi of Kozani in West Macedonia, the home village of the woman.” local media kozanilife reported. According to information of the local news website, the woman’s partner was also a Greek from Thessaly.
The victim’s relatives are expected to travel to the Netherlands.
