Lesvos: Headless body of missing refugee child washed ashore UPD

Locals in Vatera were shocked to see that the headless body of a child was washed ashore, at the village beach in the south of the island of Lesvos early Sunday morning.

They immediately informed the Greek Coast Guard that transferred the body to the hospital in Mytilene for an autopsy.

An autopsy is expected to be conducted and lead to the identification of the little body.

UPDATE: Early Sunday afternoon, the body of a man was washed ashore in Tsonia, East of Lesvos. No other information made public other than the body was transferred to the hospital of Mytilene for autopsy.
