The district of Exarchia in downtown Athens turned into a battle field on Friday night, when anarchists attacked riot policemen with fire bombs and police responded with tear gas and sound flares.
One riot policeman was injured and one person was detained during the clashes.
A group of people wearing hoods hurled stones and molotov cocktail bombs at riot police.
With bats and stones, the group later moved to the Ministry of Culture and caused damages.
The policeman was slightly injured.
A 22-year-old Iranian national was detained for attacking and injuring the policeman.
