Grigoropoulos protesters clash with police for Korkoneas’ release

Protesters clashed with police in Exarchia late on Wednesday during a gathering to protest the release of the murderer of 15-year-old Alexis Grigoropoulos.

Several hundred people gathered at the spot where special police guard Epaminondas Korkoneas fired his weapon and fatally short the teenager boy on 6. December 2008.

Holding banners and chanting slogans protesters expressed their anger about Korkoneas’ release.

After the protest meeting was over, a group of people started attacking the police forces with molotov cocktail bombs and stones.

Police responded to the attacks with tear gas.

Two people were detained.
