UPDATE: Strike cancelled! All trains, Proastiakos and the Athens Metro line to/form Athens Airport will operate as schedule on Oct 8-9, 2019, after a court ruled on Monday afternoon that the announced work stoppages and 24-hour strike were “illegal.” The company’s management had taken the case to court.
The PanHellenic Federation of Train workers had announced over the weekend to launch work stoppage and one 24-hour strike on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 8-9, 2019. Workers demand the signing of a new collective bargain.
Both mobilizations were to affect the Metro Line to/from the Athens International Airport, as it will operate until <Doukissis Plakentias> station.
Affected were not only trains but also the Proastiakos.
The planned stirke and work stoppages were scheduled as follows:
Tuesday, Oct 8
Workstoppages: 05:00 am – 08:00am, 01:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 09:00 pm – 00:00 midnight.
Wednesday, Oct 9
24-hour strike
All other transport means are expected to operate as usual.
