Coronavirus Greece: Three more people die in last hours, death toll rises to 13

Three more people infected with the conoravirus died in the last few hours in Greece, raising the death toll to 13. In less that 36 hours, the total number of deaths is 7.

All patients who died form Friday night to Saturday morning were hospitalize din Athens, two of them in designated hospitals.

One of the victims, a 84-year-old man hospitalized at Sotiria Hospital, passed away on Friday night, a 94-year-old woman at Athens’ Pamakkaristos Hospital died on Saturday morning and one 69-year-old man died in Attikon.

All of them had underlying health issues.

The number of deaths sharply increased in the last 36 hours, after four patients died in 24 hours Thursday and Friday.

According to incoming last minute information, one more patient has died in AHEPA hospital in Thessaloniki. The death has not been officially confirmed at the time this post is written. If confirmed it will be the 14th dead in the country and the 8th in the last 36 hours.

The funeral of the first victim took place in Amaliada, Peloponnese, on Saturday under strict safety measures.

The 66-year-old man, a retired teacher, conducted the virus during a piligrame to the Holy Land.

Only his members of his close family were reportedly allowed to attend the funeral and they were wearing masks.
