Greece’s National Meteorological Service EMY issued a weather warning on Tuesday about a deterioration with heavy thunderstorms locally accompanied by hail and powerful winds.
The weather deterioration is forecast to set in the in early morning hours of Wednesday, August 5, 2020, and will initially strike the north-western parts of the country.
Weather Warning analytically:
Wednesday, August 5
Early morning hours, initially the Ionian islands and gradually Epirus, West sterea, Western Macedonia.
From noon onwards: Central Macedonia and Thessaly.
The phenomena will be limited to Central Macedonia in the evening and will weaken in the other areas.
Thursday, August 6
Noon and afternoon hours, mainly the Ionian islands, Epirus, Macedonia, Thessaly and Sterea.
EMY notes that according to the data currently available, heavy thunderstorms are forecast intermittent until Sunday afternoon (August 9) mainly in east mainland and the Sporades islands.
