Greece’s National Meteorological Service EMY warns of sudden weather deterioration with heavy rainfalls and thunderstorms and strong winds mainly in the Ionian and the North Aegean Sea and the mainland. The weather deterioration is forecast to set in from North-West in the night from Friday to Saturday, September 25-26, 2020.
According to the latest forecast data of the National Observatory of Athens, the cold weather front will cross Greece from the North-West on Saturday and move to the East.
Temperature in the Ionian islands, the northern, western and southwestern mainland will not exceed 24-26 degrees Celsius, while in the rest of the mainland and the Aegean will be 31-33° C.
South winds may reach locally up to 8 Beaufort.
