32 elderly in a nursing home in Athens have been tested positive to Covid-19 and 18 of them have been already transferred to reference hospitals in the Greek capital since Sunday.
The cases are among elderly residents and workers in the nursing home in Peristeri suburb of western Athens.
The news fell like a bombshell and raised many questions as residents and workers in nursing homes were top priority in the country’s vaccination program.
According to some media, however, guardians of elderly have rejected inoculation of their beloved ones. Other media, reported that all elderly had been vaccinated.
In another structure, the prison of Patras, 39 inmates were also tested Covid-19 positive after rapid tests were carried out.
