A fire broke out in a truck tanker in Aspropyrgos, western Attica, on Friday, prompting the evacuation of a residential and industrial area and an Alert Warning by the Civil Protection.
The fire broke out in a tanker transporting propane. The incident occurred in Neoktista settlement near the Aspropyrgos refineries.
Media reported that explosions were heard in the area.
27 firefighters with 9 fire trucks have been operating in the area.

The “112” service of the Civil Protection sent a message to the mobile phone owners in the area, urging them citizens to take refuge in closed buildings, close windows and stay away from them, due to the risk of explosion.
