Unvaccinated lawmakers should only address plenary via teleconference, says KINAL MP

Deputies who have not been vaccinated against the coronavirus and no health reason to avoid doing so should address plenary sessions in the Greek Parliament from a distance, Movement for Change (KINAL) parliamentary spokesman Andreas Loverdos said on Thursday.

Speaking during a plenary debate on a Finance Ministry bill, the MP said that deputies who refuse to be vaccinated should not be allowed to take the floor in person, but address the body through teleconferencing.

Αccording to media reports last week, 290 out of 300 lawmakers in total have received vaccinations. The data are based on reports submitted by the several parties to the Parliament Speaker who had requested them.

Greeks on social media asked the MPs to publish on their social media accounts part of the vaccination certificate.

It is unclear form which parties these not vaccinated lawmakers are as some party with 10 MPs rejects vaccinations all together and some MPs from progressive parties have openly declared against the jab.
