Greece’s open-air archaeological sites closed at peak hours of heatwave

Greece’s Culture Ministry has announced changes to the opening hours of open-air archeological sites, due to the heatwave that is forecast to continue through the week.

From Tuesday to Thursday, August 3-5, 2021, will be closed to public from 12 noon until 5 in the afternoon to protect staff and visitors from the high temperature.
The ministry closed the Acropolis also on Monday for the same reason.
The heatwave is forecast to last until Friday, August 6.
