An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale rattled the islands of Zakynthos and Kefalonia in the Ionian Sea early afternoon Tuesday, September 14, 2021.
According to the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athen, the epicenter of the earthquake was 35 kilometers south-west of Volimes village on Zakynthos.
Its focal depth was 8.7 kilometers.
The earthquake occurred at 01:40 p.m. local time.
There are no reports of injuries of material damage.
