Coronavirus cases in Greece spiked to 3,937 and deaths to 54 in the past 24 hours. Health authorities announced also on Monday the number of intubated Covid-patients in hospitals Intensive Care Units has decreased to 354.
The number of the infections is particularly high on Monday after the weekend, where traditionally thousands of fewer PCR and Rapid tests are carried out.
Next to Attica and Thessaloniki, another 7 regional units record 3-digit coronavirus cases.
The Thessaloniki that reaches record numbers of daily infections, 623 in past 24 hours, the faithful crowded without masks and without social distancing at the celebrations of the patron of the city Saint Demitrius.
The Live Briefing on Monday was cancelled due to special reports on state-broadcaster ERT about the death of 56-year-old politician Fofi Gennimata, leader of socialist KINAL/PASOK earlier today.

54 Covid-deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, brought the total of pandemic victims to 15,682. Of these, 95.4% had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or over.
A total of 354 patients are intubated in hospitals ICUs, from 365 a day earlier. Their median age is 66 years, 62.4% are men. 79.4% have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 or over.

3,285 intubated Covid-patients have been discharged from hospital ICUs sine the start of the pandemic.
219 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours (daily change: -13.44%). The average admission of patients with Covid-19 to hospitals over the last 7 days was 227.
The median age of new infections is 39 years (range: 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of the deceased is 78 (range: 0.2 to 106 years).
