A fishing boat ran aground on the Tripiti Reef in the sea north of Makronissos in the central Aegean Sea on Monday afternoon. The seven people on board were picked up by rescue vessels and are in good health.
Two Coast Guard patrol boats and private boats rushed to the spot to help collect the seven people on the fishing boat and transfer them to Vromopousi beach, Keratea in eastern Attica.
The Central Port Authority of Lavrio, which is conducting the preliminary investigation, has forbidden the fishing boat from setting sail, while marine pollution clean-up crews and equipment have been placed on standby as a precaution.
