A 73-year-old man on the island of Rhodes has confessed to police the sexual abuse of his 49-year-old daughter, who has an intellectual disability.
Police had taken the man in for questioning to answer allegations of rape, sexual abuse of a person with intellectual disability and incest.
According to daily dimokratiki, the man told police “I don’t know what happened… The devil went inside me.”
He claimed that he had sex with his daughter once.
It was end of February when the woman’s brother went to police to denounce the sexual abuse. He cited an eye witness who had seen the man and the naked woman in the family home. The brother told police that his sister was raped by another elderly man, too, in 2015 who was convicted in 2020.
The brother took over the custody of the victim after their mother died ten years ago as the parents had divorced since the early 1980’s and the father got married again.
A relevant expertise by a psychiatrist and a medical examiner spoke with the victim who reportedly confirmed the rape by her father. She described what she suffered by her father stressing that she was feeling fear.
