AMBER ALERT Abduction: Rainer Jason Pedersen, 6; fears boy may leave for Norway

An Amber Alert for 6-year-old boy Rainer Jason Pedersen, has been issued late on Tuesday night, May 24, 2022. There are fears the boy may leave Greece illegally for Norway.

The boy has been allegedly abducted from the family home in Kifissia suburb of northern Athens by a man wearing a hood at 08:40 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24.

Authorities are on alert as there maybe efforts that the child leaves the Greece illegally for Norway.

Speaking to OPEN TV, the family lawyer said that the boy was at home with his grandmother when he heard a noise at the door and thinking that it was his mother, the boy went to open the door. A man wearing a hood grabbed the child and disappeared with him.

“Since then he is wanted by the police authorities, a significant effort is being made, the authorities have been informed, the border control mechanisms, because it is very likely that the child will try to leave the country illegally,” he added.

According to the lawyer, neighbors said that one van and at least one man aged up to 45 years old were seen in the area. The perpetrator was a little over normal weight and was up to 1.80m tall.

The father of the child has Norwegian citizenship and resides permanently in Norway. The child and his mother live in Greece.

The lawyer implied that there were disagreements between the child’s parents, but he did not elaborate. He urged authorities to consider all possibilities.

All authorities and border control mechanisms have been alerted “because it is very likely there will be efforts that the child leaves the country illegally,” the lawyer added.

Rainer Jason Pedersen has red hair and brown eyes, a height 1.10m and weights 15 kg.

He has freckles on his face.

The day he disappeared he was wearing blue gym pants, a white short-sleeved t-shirt and gray socks.
