NBA legend Magic Johnson is touring Greece, gets surprise call by PM

Earvin Magic Johnson is not only an NBA legend but also “the best ambassador for Greece” in summer 2022. With his spouse and friends, he has been touring the islands in the Aegean and the Ionian Seas since the start of July, having fun. He captures every moment in the country and shares wonderful and fun pictures with millions of his followers on his social media accounts.

After his visit to the Acropolis of Athens and several posts with pictures and informative texts, Magic Johnson received a call by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis who welcomed him to the country.

“I had the honor and pleasure of getting a surprise call from the Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis welcoming me to the country and seeing how my visit has been so far. I told the Prime Minister it’s been amazing and life changing!” Johnson tweeted.

On his part, Mistotakis posted on his instagram account:

Mitsotakis and Johnson agreed to have a lunch and play basketball together … next time, the NBA legend is around.

62-yea-old Earvin “Magic” Johnson Jr. has been posting pictures from almost every moment he spends in Greece expressing his enthusiasm.

He is currently touring the Ionian Sea with a yacht, having big fun on the island of Lefkada after he, his wife and their friends visited Zakynthos.

Johnson has been touring the Aegean and now the Ionian islands since the beginning of July as his accounts of Twitter and Instagram prove.

We could say that Magic Johnson has earned the honorable title of “Best Ambassador for Greece in Summer 2022.”

  1. well isn’t that all so nice. the PM doesn’t have the time of day for actual citizens, but when rich tourists come cruising through he’s tripping over himself to suck up to them.

  2. I understand basketball is big in Greece (unlike for instance England) and i have to admit i have even heard of Magic Johnson, so hopefully some good will come out of this for Greeks tourism. Not sure of the idea of the Prime Minister of Greece actually telephoning him. I am not sure whether this looks good for the Head of State of Greece to actually do this is a wise idea.
