Thieves arrested in Rafina and Syros for stealing tourist’s luggage onboard of ship

Port authorities have arrested three young men for stealing items from the luggage of a tourist onboard of a ferry. The thieves were arrested at the port of Rafina and on the island of Syros.

According to statement issued by the Greek Coast Guard on Wednesday, two men, aged 22 and 21, were arrested for the theft at the port of Rafina and one accomplice aged 25 on the island of Syros.

Authorities found in their possession of valuables, money, personal belongings and phone devices, which were identified by the owner of the stolen luggage.

The luggage belong to a tourist who went on board of the ferry on the island of Tinos. She reportedly realized the theft later and immediately went to the port authorities when the ferry arrived at the port of Rafina, in East Attica.
According to ANT1 TV, the thieves had removed form the black luggage, clothes and cosmetics, 487 euros, jewelry and an expensive mobile phone.

Now authorities investigate whether the three men had stolen more luggage from tourists onboard of ferries.
