An emergency 112 alert message was sent per sms to residents of the northern Ionian Islands and Epirus, warning them of dangerous weather conditions from the early morning hours of Saturday, November 5, 2022.
The Alert message called on residents to avoid unnecessary travel unless absolutely necessary.
Short after 8 p.m. Friday, another Alert sms was sent via <112> to residents of Western Greece, South Ionian island and Messinia, in Peloponnese The message warned them of dangerous weather phenomena (heavy storms) as of noon hours of Saturday.

Speaking at an emergency briefing on the storm Eva, Fire Service spokesman Yannis Artopoios said 112 messages may be sent to residents in other regions too.
He said the country’s firefighters have been placed on alert and urged citizens to follow emergency recommendations by authorities and follow their instructions.
On Thursday, Greece’s National Meteorological Service (EMY) warned that Eva, low-pressure system EVA is forecast to sweep into Greece from Italy late on Friday, bringing severe weather across the country.
From early Saturday until Sunday evening, many areas will see high levels of rain, locally high winds and intense lightning.
