Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan threatened for one more time Greece on Wednesday reiterating his threat to invade the country with “we can arrive suddenly one night.” He said further that “Greece has to know its place” and ” remember history.”
“Again, I say it against Greece’s behavior that causes such tension. We can arrive suddenly one night. There are officials in Greece who do not know their limits. We tell them to know the diplomacy of the neighboring country. Don’t mess with Türkiye. They can fill the islands with as many guns as they want. None of these will do you any good. Here is Türkiye. Greece has to know its place. They need to remember history,” Erdogan said while at the G-20 Summit in Indonesia.
Erdogan’s threats come a day after his nationalist government partner Devlet Bahceli stated that if Greece expends its territorial waters this will be a “call to war.”
For the last six months, Turkey has been using a constant aggressive rhetoric against Greece full of threats and false claims.
