UPDATE Ferries, ships to islands and Crete docked due to gale-force winds

Greece’s Shipping Ministry issued on Monday a ban on sailing of ships and ferries due to gale-force winds in the Aegean Sea reaching up to 9 Beaufort.

Ships will not be sailing from the ports of Piraeus, Rafina, and Lavrio to the islands of Cyclades, the Dodecanese and Crete.

Ferries and ships will operate as usual in the Saronic gulf.

In northern Greece, the schedule between Thassos island and Keramoti near Kavala has also been cancelled.

Gale-force winds are forecast also on Tuesday, December 20, 2022.
