Vegans staged a protest at the central meat market Varvakeio in downtown Athens on Saturday afternoon as people were doing their last purchases for the New Year’s festive table.
Dressed in black and holding banners against the slaughter of animals, the group f some 15 people chanted slogans “I want to live” and “No to violence.”
Vegans’ protest in the central meat market of Athens tend to develop into a tradition during the holidays in the last couple of years.
