12 injured when bus crashes on private car in downtown Athens

A traffic accident occurred between a public bus and a private vehicle injured twelve people in downtown Athens on Wednesday morning.

The accident occurred around 8:15 a.m. at the junction of Vasilissis Sofias and Soutsou avenues in the center of Athens.

According to the police, a bus on the Palaio Faliro – Kifissia route crashed into a vehicle in front of it. The vehicle had reportedly stopped on the bus only lane.

All injured people were passengers on the bus and were taken to hospital for checks. they are slightly injured.

Police blamed icy conditions for the accident which took place on Vasilissis Sofias Avenue at 8.15 a.m.

It is not clear how many people where in the bus or the car.

Traffic police and the bus company investigates the reasons for the accident.
