Workers at the Tram and Metro Line 1 in Athens will hold work stoppages on Wednesday, February 15, 20223.
Workers at Metro Line 1, the overground electric railway from Piraeus to Kifissia, have announced a warning work stoppage from 10 p.m. until the end of the shift on Wednesday.
The strike is in protest against the transport ministry’s delay in ratifying a collective agreement on pay.
Tram workers will hold their work stoppage from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. According to managing company STA.SY., the Tram trains will start the last routes one hour before the work stoppage, while their traffic will be restored one hour after it ends.
The warning strike was announced by the STASY Employees’ Union demands that the Transport Ministry legislation threatening to have employees return legal fees, does not proceed.
They furthermore demand the immediate hiring of personnel.
Metro Lines 2 and 3 and the rest of public transport means in Athens are expected to operate as usual.
