Transport workers’ unions in Greece are mobilizing with strikes and work stoppages to mark the Labor Day on Monday, as they do every year on May 1, 2023.
Especially public transport workers in Athens, are engaged in 24-hour strikes and work stoppages.
Buses and Trolley buses will operate from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. as personnel will launch work stoppages from the start of the morning shirt at 5:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. and again from 9:00 p.m. until the end of the night shift at 00:00 midnight.
Traffic is expected to be restored after 10:00 a.m. while the vehicles will start to withdraw from 8:00 p.m..
KTEL buses will operate as usual.
Workers at Metro Lines 1, 2 and 3, including Urban Train ISAP, and the Tram will launch a 24-hour strike.
The Hellenic Train trains, including the Athens Suburban Proastiakos, are expected to be stopped on Monday, May 1 due to the participation of the Panhellenic Railway Federation in the 24-hour strike of the GSEE.
