Some archaeological sites to close early on Greece’s election day (LIST)

Some archaeological sites, monuments and museums will close early on Sunday, May 21, 2023 due to the general election, Greece’s Culture Ministry announced on Friday.

While most sites will operate on elections day according to the summer schedule Athens sites like the Acropolis, the Ancient Agora, the Roman Agora and Hadrian’s Library will close at 5 p.m., three hours earlier than usually.

 

The Kerameikos, Olympieion and Lyceum of Aristotle sites will close at 3 p.m.

Six archaeological sites and museums outside Athens will also close early and some will remain closed all day.

Archaeological Site of Acropolis and Slopes 08:00-17:00

Archaeological Site of Ancient Agora-Areios Pagos and Museum of Attalos Stoa 08:00-17:00

Archaeological Site of the Roman Agora 08:00-17:00

Archaeological Site of Hadrian’s Library 08:00-17:00

Archaeological Site and Museum of Kerameikos 08:00-15:00

Archaeological Site of Olympia 08:00-15:00

Archaeological Site of Aristotle Lyceum 08:00-15:00

ACHAIA

Archaeological Museum of Patras 08:00-15:30

BOEOTIA

Archaeological Museum of Thebes 08:00-14:00

PREVEZA

Archaeological Site and Museum of Nikopolis 08:00-15:00

HALKIDIKI

Sofroniou Basilica 09:30-15:30
