Ryanair airplane makes emergency landing in Corfu airport

A Ryanair airplane made an emergency landing in the airport of Corfu on Wednesday afternoon, June 28.

The plain was bound for Milan in Italy, when the pilot reported an engine failure immediately after the take-off at 7:00 p.m. from Corfu airport, website enikos.gr reported.

According to state broadcaster ERT, the pilot informed about a damage to the engine possibly caused by a bird.

According to ERT, the aircraft moved immediately after takeoff to the west towards the Paleokastritsa sea area, while it then flew southwest of Corfu, where after making several circles it entered the airstrip, flying over Agios Georgios and then towards Moraitika and Benitses to finally land safely

The Fire Service rushed to the area where the plane was instructed to make the emergency landing and airport authorities were set on alert..

Finally the Raynair aircraft landed safely at Corfu airport.

No problems with the passengers have been reported, so far.
