Thessaloniki: Patients, staff evacuated after fire in private clinic (videos)


Some 40 patients, among them a woman in labor and a patient on a surgery table, as well as staff members were evacuated when a fire broke out in a private clinic in Thessaloniki on Tuesday morning.
Speakiing to media, surgeon Pavlos Pavlidis said he had to interrupt a surgery with the patient being already under anesthesia and intubated.
The fire broke out in the floor between basement and 1st floor, where some laboratories are located, and the smoke quickly moved to upper floors.
Police and fire service investigate the causes of the blaze that was extinguished a few hours later.
No injuries have been reported.
