A trans woman who migrated to Greece from Cuba a few years ago was found to have been brutally murdered in her Athens apartment on Monday afternoon.
The body of the 46-year-old woman, named Anna Ivankova, was found by her landlord in Agios Paneleimonas district of Athens.
Preliminary autopsy detected dozens of injuriesin the head and neck caused by a sharp object, probably by a knife.
The cause of death is attributed to hemorrhagic shock.
According to media, Anna fought for her life until her death.
The perpetrator hit the trans woman several times with the sharp object, while the victim’s death is timed in the morning hours of Monday, July 10, 2023.
The victim was also an activist in the local trans scene in the Greek capital.
