The US Embassy in Greece has issued a notice to American citizens alerting them over planned pro-Palestinian rallies in Athens and Thessaloniki on Friday and Saturday, October 13-14, 2023.
A demonstration at Eleftherias Park in Athens on Friday at 6 p.m., with intentions to march to the Israeli Embassy in Psychiko.
A rally in Thessaloniki at the Statue of Eleftherios Venizelos on Saturday at 12 p.m.
The US embassy recommends actions that US citizens in Athens and Thessaloniki have to take.
These actions are:
- Review your travel plans.
- Avoid the areas of the demonstrations.
- Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests.
- Monitor local media for updates.
- Keep a low profile.
Furthermore, it encourages them to stay updated on last-minute demonstration information through local media.
