A 39-year-old Albanian national shot with a gun his 29-year-old Romanian wife in their home in Kaminia neighborhood of Heraklio, Crete, early Friday morning.
The man called the police saying “Come, I killed my wife”, local media reported.
Officers found the victim in the living room.
A fight has allegedly preceded the shooting, media reported adding that the perpetrator was drunk when he returned home early in the morning.
According to neighbors, the couple was frequently involved in loud arguments and fights.
The man was known to police for violations of the drugs law for which he had served a prison sentence.
The perpetrator has been arrested.
It is the third femicide in Greece since the beginning of 2024.
