A group of Israeli tourists on vacation to the island of Rhodes allegedly carried out an unprovoked attack against a gathering of solidarity with the people of Palestine and Lebanon, organized by unions and agencies of the island, media reported.

A group of about 20 Israeli tourists, who were near the site, as soon as they saw Palestinian flags began to provoke, swearing obscenely and shouting slogans. They even went so far as to attack the rally participants, with blows and threats such as “we’ll cut your throat” and “we’ll kill you!”
According to 902.gr, the attempt to break up the gathering was unsuccessful and the group of Israelis received a decisive response from the protesters as well as from passers-by, who pushed them away.
Later, trade unionists protested at the 1st Police Directorate of Dodecanese, denouncing the attitude of the police and demanding the arrest and punishment of those who participated in the attack.
